Job Description

Come join a creative team dedicated to a clear goal: helping newcomers to Canada navigate a life-changing journey, and connecting them with trusted brands and organisations along the way.

Moving2Canada is at the heart of the newcomer journey. But, our website and other digital assets aren't as quick or as optimised as they should be. We're looking for an ambitious web developer intern to help us make our site be faster and easier to navigate, to help us connect with our global community. The position is open to candidates across Canada.

This internship is paid and full-time, around 35 hours per week, and applicants across Canada may be eligible as the position is remote.

Duties and Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities:
Revamping theme to incorporate ACF fields
Identifying and fixing bugs
Ensuring quick page loads speed across websites
Work independently or with R&D team in coding and testing of code
Implement recommended design changes and unit tests for both performance and data integrity

Knowledge and Skills

The most important skill will be willingness and enthusiasm to learn new technologies and programming skills. Specific requested skills will also include:
HTML experience
Experience with WordPress / PHP
CSS/Sass experience
Proficiency in JavaScript
Quick learner and adaptable for working in a fast-paced environment
Team player and open to collaboration with developers and other multidisciplinary teams
Good time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail

Education Required

Post-secondary qualification in computer science, software engineering, web development or design, or similar field

The Natural Resources Internship program has certainly made it easier for our company to take a small risk by bringing in employees with little to no experience in the industry.
