Job Description

As the Sustainable Carbon Offset Monitoring Engineer, the candidate will lead the creation of a special device and app. These tools will help measure how much carbon emissions are reduced or how much carbon is stored. The candidate's job is to make sure the device and app work well together. They'll need to know about sensors, data analysis, and making apps for phones. It's important for the candidate to care about the environment and want to make a positive impact.
The candidate will work closely with different teams to figure out what the device and app need to do. Then, they'll help come up with ways to make sure they work correctly. Their main tasks will include making sure the data from the device is accurate and easy to understand. They'll also make the app user-friendly so that people can easily track their carbon offset activities. Throughout the project, the candidate will focus on making things efficient and effective while also caring for the environment. Their work will help us better understand and reduce our carbon footprint, which is essential for fighting climate change.

Knowledge and Skills

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Lead Development: Take charge of developing the sensor and mobile application for measuring carbon offset activities, ensuring they meet project requirements and goals.
2. Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with cross-functional teams to define project needs, conduct feasibility studies, and identify key performance indicators.
3. Algorithm Development: Oversee the creation of robust algorithms for processing and analyzing data collected by the sensor, ensuring accuracy and reliability of carbon offset measurements.
4. User Interface Design: Design user-friendly interfaces and features within the mobile application to facilitate data collection, visualization, and reporting for easy understanding.
5. Technical Problem Solving: Address any technical challenges or obstacles that arise during the development process, finding innovative solutions in collaboration with team members.
6. Adherence to Best Practices: Follow best practices in clean technology development, prioritizing efficiency, scalability, and environmental impact mitigation throughout the project.
7. Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough testing and quality assurance to ensure the functionality and performance of both the sensor and mobile application meet high standards.
8. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of development processes, milestones, and outcomes. Provide regular progress reports to stakeholders.
9. Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in carbon offset monitoring technologies. Continuously seek opportunities to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the sensor and app.

Education Required

1. Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
2. Certification or training in sensor technologies, data analysis, or mobile application development is desirable but not mandatory.
3. Demonstrated experience or coursework in software development, algorithm design, and user interface design is preferred.
4. Relevant internship or project experience in a related field is advantageous.
