Job Description:
Intern will support Phase 1 development of Amphibious Prime Mover, a tracked machine engineered for operation in extreme terrains. Development of efficient equipment design for purpose of supporting environmental innovation and protection projects, including land restoration and access to difficult terrain, marsh lands, peat bogs. and remote forestry sites. Intern responsibilities will focus on conversion of CAD designs to Production drawings, physical scale model creations of the machine, and testing of the digital twin models through the use of software simulations in fluid dynamics ensuring this equipment will remain buoyant.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Contributes to the design, selection of sustainable material choices and testing Supports, participates in, and/or facilitates research participant groups with small to medium-sized enterprises (SME’s), businesses, students and project contacts as required  Deliver presentations on sustainable practices regarding advanced manufacturing  Define and produce standard operating procedures for sustainable practices in materials usage and biproduct utilization  Works safely and under the direction and with the requirements of the STAC Facility  Keeps records and contributes to the completion of monthly, annual, and final project and program reporting  Contributes to proposal development and/or grant applications for program and project research funding  Participates in community and college-wide events related to applied research and innovation  Performs other related duties as requested by the supervisor 
Knowledge and Skills:
Work experience with the following software: Autodesk Inventor, Solidworks, and additional experience with fluid dynamics or FEA Work experience with the following lab equipment and tools: 3D printers and 3d scanners Show initiative to maintain professional currency and must be able to adapt to new technologies  Excellent lab practices and problem-solving skills  Excellent interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills  Analytical thinking skills Strong customer service and communications skills Ability to be flexible, prioritize work, and meet deadlines Demonstrated experience working independently, and as part of a team
